Meet Nancy

THIS IS MY STORY

At just 8 years old, I was abducted by the LRA to be a child soldier. I still remember how it happened. I was sitting around a fire with my two cousins who were 9 and 12 years old at the time. The rebels ambushed our village one night, and in the blink of an eye, I saw my cousins get killed right in front of me. I was captured along with some of the other children in my village. Anyone who tried running away was shot immediately.

Seeing the other people killed, especially my own cousins, was the worst thing to come out of the war for me. But WEND gave me a new start to my life. I gained a love for sewing and am now the financial provider for my kids and extended family. The Lord can and will show up in some of the most dark places. He will shed a light on your life that can change everything. Since 2011, Mend and now WEND, has truly been this light for my family and I.
